Comparing 6 Alternative Monitors
LG 45-Inch 5K2K Curved OLED Gaming Monitor
The LG 45-inch 5K2K OLED expands the canvas by seven inches while keeping the same 5K2K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. You gain more horizontal space for multitasking or wider fields of view in games. The 45-inch model weighs 30.9 pounds and measures 39 inches wide, requiring a larger desk surface than the 39-inch original. It retains the OLED panel type for deep blacks and high contrast. This option suits users who prioritize immersion and screen real estate over compact dimensions. The added width makes it ideal for productivity workflows that benefit from extra horizontal pixel count.
LG 39-Inch Curved OLED Gaming Monitor
The LG 39-inch 1440p OLED sacrifices resolution for significantly higher speed. It offers a 240Hz refresh rate compared to the original’s 165Hz, which benefits competitive gamers needing faster frame delivery. The resolution drops to 1440p, reducing pixel density and sharpness for text and fine details. You keep the same 39-inch size and OLED panel type, maintaining contrast benefits. This monitor is lighter at 22.9 pounds and slightly narrower. It is the better choice if you value smooth motion and high refresh rates over the 5K2K clarity and AI upscaling features found in the original model.
Dell 40-Inch 5K2K Curved Ultrawide Monitor
The Dell 40-inch 5K2K Curved Ultrawide focuses on professional use rather than gaming speed. It matches the 5K2K resolution for similar sharpness but likely lacks the high refresh rates and OLED panel of the original. The monitor is significantly heavier at 41.9 pounds and wider at 37.3 inches, demanding more desk space. It is designed for productivity in bright environments, prioritizing screen real estate and clarity. This option fits users who need a large workspace for creative tasks or office work. It is less suitable for fast-paced gaming where the original’s 165Hz OLED speed and contrast provide a distinct advantage.
LG 32-Inch 4K Dual-Mode OLED Gaming Monitor
The LG 32-inch 4K OLED Dual-Mode Monitor reduces the screen size to 32 inches and changes the resolution to 4K UHD. It maintains the 165Hz refresh rate and OLED panel type, preserving contrast and speed in a smaller footprint. This model is lighter at 20.1 pounds and narrower at 28.1 inches, fitting smaller desks. The 4K resolution offers high pixel density but covers a smaller area than the 5K2K ultrawide format. It is ideal for competitive gamers who want high refresh rates and sharp visuals without the width of an ultrawide display. You trade the expansive 21:9 aspect ratio for a more compact, square-ish 16:9 format.
ASUS ROG 32-Inch 4K OLED Gaming Monitor
The ASUS ROG 32-inch 4K OLED Gaming Monitor offers a flat panel design instead of the original’s curve. It features a 240Hz refresh rate, which is faster than the 165Hz of the 39-inch model. The resolution is 4K UHD, providing high sharpness in a smaller 32-inch area. This monitor is the lightest option at 19.2 pounds and has a slim profile. It suits players who prefer flat screens and maximum speed over ultrawide immersion. The compact size makes it easier to fit on standard desks. You give up the 21:9 aspect ratio and the immersive curve, gaining a faster refresh rate and a more traditional viewing format.
LG 52-Inch UltraGear 240Hz Curved 5K2K Monitor
The LG 52-inch 5K2K 240Hz Curved Monitor drastically increases the screen size to 52 inches while boosting the refresh rate to 240Hz. It retains the 5K2K resolution and OLED panel type, ensuring high sharpness and contrast. This model is the heaviest at 37 pounds and widest at 46.2 inches, requiring a very large desk. It is designed for users who want a dominant, immersive screen that fills their field of view. The higher 240Hz rate benefits competitive gaming. This option is best for those with ample space who want the ultimate combination of resolution, speed, and size, sacrificing portability and desk convenience.
