How Alternatives Compare to LG 32GN550
LG 32-Inch 4K Dual-Mode OLED Gaming Monitor
The LG 32GX850A uses an OLED panel instead of the VA panel found in the original. It offers 4K resolution, which provides significantly sharper images than the 1080p FHD display on the base model. You can switch to a 330Hz mode for extreme speed, though the standard 165Hz mode matches the original's refresh rate. This monitor is heavier and larger, requiring more desk space. It is best for gamers who want top-tier contrast and color without sacrificing clarity, rather than those satisfied with basic FHD visuals.
Redragon GM32 32-inch 180Hz QHD
The Redragon GM32 steps up to QHD resolution, delivering more pixel density than the 1080p original. It features a curved design, which enhances immersion compared to the flat screen of the LG 32GN550. The refresh rate is slightly higher at 180Hz, offering smoother motion for competitive titles. It retains the VA panel type, so you get similar contrast ratios. This option is ideal if you want a larger, curved viewing area with better sharpness and a bit more speed, while staying within a budget-friendly range.
MSI 32-Inch 4K QD-OLED Gaming Monitor
The MSI MAG 322UP QD-OLED introduces QD-OLED technology, which combines the benefits of OLED with enhanced color volume. It matches the 165Hz refresh rate of the original but offers 4K resolution for much finer detail. The response time is incredibly fast at 0.03ms, reducing motion blur significantly more than the 1ms MBR of the VA panel. This monitor is heavier and has a different footprint. It is suited for players who prioritize color accuracy and speed in a high-resolution format, moving far beyond standard FHD capabilities.
LG 32-Inch QHD 165Hz IPS Gaming Monitor
The LG 32GP750-B switches from a VA panel to an IPS panel, which typically offers better color accuracy and wider viewing angles. It increases the resolution to QHD, providing a sharper image than the 1080p original. The refresh rate remains at 165Hz, maintaining the same smoothness for fast-paced games. It also supports both FreeSync and G-SYNC, similar to the base model. This monitor is a strong choice for gamers who value color fidelity and sharpness over the high contrast ratios provided by VA panels.
Dell 32-Inch 4K 120Hz Monitor
The Dell S3225QS offers 4K resolution on a 32-inch VA panel, providing significantly more detail than the 1080p LG 32GN550. However, the refresh rate is lower at 120Hz, which may feel less smooth for competitive gaming. It supports FreeSync for tear-free gameplay but lacks G-SYNC compatibility. The monitor includes built-in audio, which the original does not specify. This option is better for users who prioritize productivity, media consumption, and color accuracy over high refresh rates for fast-moving games.
Samsung Odyssey G5 32-Inch Curved Monitor
The Samsung Odyssey G5 features a curved QHD panel, offering both higher resolution and an immersive viewing angle compared to the flat FHD screen of the original. It matches the 165Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth performance in fast-paced games. It supports FreeSync for synchronized visuals but does not list G-SYNC compatibility. This monitor is designed for players who want a balance of sharpness and immersion. It is a solid mid-range alternative for those who find the original's resolution too low but still need high refresh rates.
